Penny Pelican here. Today we are interviewing the main character in the Turtle Town Series, Snap Shell!
Penny P: Hi Snap! So glad you could come into the studio today. You look great in your blue flippers! So, I have to ask, what has been your favorite part about moving to California?
Snap Shell: Glad to be here Miss P! I have to say, California has been a totally awesome experience. It wasn't the easiest move in the beginning but something about getting to surf every day puts me in such a great mood.
Penny P: In your new Turtle Town book, The Inner Puka, we find out a lot about your past. Have you found out any other secrets that you didn't know about since the big one was revealed to you in Chapter nine of the book?
Snap Shell: Chapter nine was a huge breaking point in my life. I felt like a completely different turtle after that chapter. Since then, I have found out a few more secrets, not about my life, but actually about my friend Tula's life. The next book in the series will tell you more though. Can't give it away.
Penny P: So there is a second book on the way?
Snap Shell: Yep! It will be out in about a year or so. I think my friend Iggy is putting out a book before then. You know he's on his third book this year.
Penny P: I'm glad you mentioned your friend Iggy. How hard was it to leave your best friend behind?
Snap Shell: Well, you don't really see it in the book, but during the LONG drive to California with my dad, at one point I was really regretting the move. I didn't want to make new friends. I wanted to keep my old ones. But, honestly, the second I saw the waves of the Pacific Ocean, all of my regrets vanished!
Penny P: Are you planning on making an appearance in Iggy's next book like he did in yours? I mean you are a part of the Iggy the Iguana series still, right?
Snap Shell: I'm having a few meetings with the producers of the book, so we'll see. I can't give that away yet either.
Penny P: How are Herbert and Star doing? Those two cracked me up on almost every page!
Snap Shell: Your telling me!! Those two guys had everyone in the book cracking up. I can't believe Star can put up with Herbert all the time with out ever saying a word. I think Herbert is on vacation somewhere in Europe. Supposedly he has family out there. We never know what to believe with him though. I'm sure he'll come back with a new accent.
Penny P: Okay, Snap. This is my last question. What's going on with you and Tula, the cute little Olive Ridley Turtle. There was so much drama in the story between the two of you. What can we expect in the next book?
Snap Shell: Ha! Funny you mention Tula. She's actually mad at me because she's not getting interviewed, but Tula will always be Tula. She's pretty dramatic, but I don't mind. She's like a best friend to me.
Penny P: It looks like we're out of time. Thank you so much for being here today Snap! I can't wait to come out to your book release party this summer!
Snap Shell: Thanks Ms. P. Always a pleasure!
